Storage Nine Elms Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Nine Elms in recognition of our responsibilities under applicable modern slavery and human trafficking legislation. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Nine Elms is committed to conducting business ethically, with integrity, and with respect for the dignity and rights of every individual.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Storage Nine Elms maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, bonded labour, child labour, human trafficking, and all related exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation, supplier, or individual involved in such practices. Our directors and management team are committed to promoting a culture where modern slavery is never accepted and is actively opposed in all areas of our business.
This commitment extends to every aspect of our operations, including storage services, facilities management, procurement, and any outsourced activities. All staff, contractors, and business partners are expected to uphold this policy and to act in a way that is consistent with our values and legal obligations.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Nine Elms provides storage solutions to a broad range of customers. Our supply chains include providers of facility maintenance, security, cleaning, equipment, utilities, and other professional and support services. We recognise that certain sectors and jurisdictions present a higher risk of modern slavery, and we are working to identify and address these risks proactively.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our stance on modern slavery and who can demonstrate robust labour and human rights standards within their own operations and supply networks.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To reinforce our zero-tolerance approach, Storage Nine Elms conducts due diligence on new and existing suppliers and service providers. This process may include initial screening questionnaires, requests for policy and procedure documentation, and risk assessments focused on labour practices, recruitment methods, and working conditions.
Where we identify higher-risk suppliers or categories, we may undertake more detailed reviews, including on-site audits where appropriate and proportionate. These audits are designed to evaluate compliance with labour laws, health and safety standards, and our expectations regarding the prohibition of forced and child labour. If a supplier fails to meet our standards, we will seek corrective actions within a defined timeframe. Where serious or repeated non-compliance occurs, Storage Nine Elms reserves the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Raising Issues
Storage Nine Elms encourages all employees, contractors, and stakeholders to report any concerns or suspected instances of modern slavery or human trafficking, whether within our own operations or in our supply chains. We are committed to ensuring that individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith do so without fear of retaliation or detrimental treatment.
Reports can be made to line managers or senior management. All concerns will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and, where appropriate, referred to relevant authorities. We will take appropriate action in response to any confirmed case of modern slavery, which may include working with the affected individuals, reviewing our processes, and taking steps to prevent recurrence.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that raising awareness is essential to preventing modern slavery. Storage Nine Elms is working to ensure that relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, facilities management, and supplier engagement, understand the indicators of modern slavery and the steps they should take if they have concerns.
Training and guidance materials are being developed and updated to reflect evolving best practice and legal requirements. We will continue to improve our internal knowledge to better identify and mitigate risks across our operations.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Storage Nine Elms is committed to the ongoing monitoring and improvement of our approach to modern slavery. We review our policies, procedures, and controls at least annually to ensure they remain effective and reflect any changes in legislation, guidance, or the nature of our operations and supply chains.
As part of this annual review, we assess the effectiveness of our due diligence processes, supplier engagement, training, and reporting mechanisms. Where we identify gaps or opportunities for improvement, we set clear objectives and timelines for implementation. We also consider feedback from stakeholders and developments in industry practice to strengthen our response.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Nine Elms and will be updated each year to report on our progress and actions taken to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.
